Ditchling is surrounded by farms, vineyards and independent food producers, meaning that whether you’re after a quick sandwich or a three-course dinner, you’ll eat fantastic, locally-sourced food prepared with real love.
The Green Welly
Loved by cyclists, walkers and villagers alike, the Green Welly is at the very heart of the village, serving up sinful cakes, healthy salads, buttery pastries and everything inbetween. On sunny days the courtyard garden is the perfect spot for lunch, in cooler weather settle in for hot soup, savoury tarts and warming hot chocolate.
The Nutmeg Tree
A classic village tea room that oozes 1940’s style, the Nutmeg Tree is the perfect place to fuel up for a walk or bike ride, or for an indulgent, old-school lunch. Breakfasts are fantastic – from full fry-ups (with good veggie options) to hot buttered crumpets, and if you’re after a picnic there are fresh pasties and sausage rolls to take away.
The White Horse
A cold beer in the delightful walled garden at the White Horse is a must in the summer months, but whatever time of year Kirsty and the team welcome locals and visitors alike, for hearty pub classics – from fish and chips to succulent burgers, vegan treats, sharing boards and and well-kept beers and wines.
